Day One of How to Attract Clients and Grow a Thriving Private Practice or Conscious Business in 40 Days: One woman’s personal journey of applying Manifestation and Marketing principles to re-building her private practice
Would you like to know how to grow your private practice or conscious business in 40 days? Starting today and for the next 39 days I’m going to share my story with you and the steps I’m taking on this journey. Hi! I’m Kathryn Yarborough and the founder and director of the Center for Embodied Consciousness in Columbia, Maryland. I’ve been teaching manifestation and marketing tools and coaching people to grow their conscious businesses for the last five years. I love this work, but I want to do something even more transformative. I want to create an organization that trains therapists, teachers, coaches, healing arts practitioners, and other helping professionals in Breath of Life Coaching so that all people on the planet can experience the benefits of full bodied, conscious breathing. Here's my story... I started my private practice about 9 years ago, built it up to where I was seeing between 20 and 25 clients a week and then started to feel like I wanted to teach more than see clients… so I began to explore how to do that in a way that feels right to me. In the meantime, I quit putting energy into growing or even maintaining my private practice… and sure enough my numbers dwindled… as did my income. I began to wonder if doing any kind of service work was the right thing for me. I explored doing administrative work and website development. After about a year of this process I realized that I’m way better at helping clients heal, transform, manifest their desires, and awaken than I am at doing the detail work necessary for administrative tasks. The truth is I really want to teach a whole program to practitioners that takes them through a transformative process during which they learn embodied consciousness skills and concepts and possibly become a Breath of Life coach. My story continued... Recently, three other things were happening… 1. My private practice started growing again… and I was LOVING the work I was doing with clients. 2. I became clear – really clear – for the first time in my life what my mission is – to teach people the Breath of Life practices and facilitate the integration of these practices into their everyday life. 3. I wanted to market the Attract Clients and Grow a Thriving Private Practice workshop well… and attract participants to it because the content is so useful for anyone starting a private practice, rebuilding a private practice, or committing to growing a thriving private practice. I am blessed with receiving a lot of Guidance… Earlier today (day one of this journey), I was feeling a little annoyed and a little concerned about what the next right thing for me to do is and… I explored the possibility of really fulfilling my newly discovered personal mission to teach everyone the Breath of Life and help them integrate it into their lives. I brainstormed about how I could train trainers in it and take it into all kinds of settings: corporations, universities and high schools, prisons, hospitals, new thought communities, and government agencies. I thought about the possibility of making it a non-profit and fundraising for it. I thought about asking colleagues to partner me in this – as it is a great mission. And I got scared. I figured no one would want to partner me in this… and in the meantime – HOW WOULD I PAY MY BILLS? Why I'm writing my story... At about this point, I got Guidance. It said, “Grow your private practice to 25 Breath of Life Coaching clients a week.” And I had the thought I could write my story about the process. I could post my experience in using the manifestation and marketing skills and concepts I know and love and therefore educate people, through example, on how to use them. These postings could be used as a marketing tool for the upcoming Attracting Clients and Growing a Thriving Private Practice or Conscious Business workshop and as part of a How To e-book on the same topic that I could sell in the near future. Sounds brilliant – if it will work. So today is day one of a 40 day process and I’m not 100% sure if I’m really willing to attract 25 clients a week… or if I’m willing to complete the 40 day process. However, there is something in my heart – a little, tiny nudge – that says this is Right. So here goes… In order to really activate the Law of Attraction, we have to be as if the thing is already happening. All our words, thoughts, actions, and feelings have to be as if it’s happening now. In this case, it means I have to be as if I’m a person (now) who is seeing 25 Breath of Life clients a week (even if I’m only seeing one – or even none). If you’re interested in attracting clients re-read these 2 sentences: In order to really activate the Law of Attraction, we have to be as if the thing is already happening. All our words, thoughts, actions, and feelings have to be as if it’s happening now. This is the one and only secret you ever need to know. Everything else in my How to Attract Clients and Grow a Thriving Private Practice or Conscious Business in 40 days e-book and in the workshop is about how to do this. Everything! So what does this mean for me right now? Am I really willing to go through the process of transformation to being a person who is seeing 25 Breath of Life clients 48 weeks a year? Let me think about it... What might this look like? If I were seeing 25 Breath of Life clients this week… I might feel really energized because I love witnessing people do the full body breathing and conscious movement included in Breath of Life sessions.I might not have time to write for my website or create new workshops because my time will be so full… or maybe… because I’ll feel so energized I’ll have tons of energy for this type of thing. My work days will be filled with seeing clients. I’ll have to plan meals well and bring food to work so that I’m prepared well. I would love receiving referrals from satisfied clients who love the work they do with me – and this would feel great. I would be learning the process it takes for people to learn and integrate the Breath of Life into their day-to-day life. This would be cool. I think I would really be excited about going to work and seeing clients because I so love doing this process with people. I might have to hire an administrative assistant to help with scheduling and workshop registrations. And that would be an interesting experience. It means I’d be with people a lot more than I have been over the last two years and I’d have to let go of several days a month of completely open days. I’d probably be working on a Saturday or Sunday this week or next. I’m getting excited. And…I’m aware that I also have some doubts on this DAY ONE of this process… Will anyone want to do the Breath of Life Coaching sessions? Will it be hard to attract clients? I know that if I be the person who sees 25 people for Breath of Life Sessions every week… if all my thoughts, actions, and words are as if I’m this person… then it will happen easily.
