Day Nineteen of How to Attract Clients and Grow a Thriving Private Practice in 40 Days: One woman’s personal journey of applying Manifestation and Marketing principles to re-building her private practice
By Kathryn Yarborough As I get ready to identify my marketing methods – or how I will communicate my message – I’m wanting to check in with myself, one more time, about my target market. Yesterday - day 18 - I received Guidance to work with everyone - who is willing - in Howard County, Maryland (where I live and work) and then to focus on working with people in Washington, DC – it’s just 30 minutes from here. Okay… so if my focus is people who live or work in Howard County, MD… ...Who in Howard County would want Breath of Life Coaching and be willing to pay for it. What benefit are they looking for – from their perspective? Let me brainstorm... - Some people who experience anxiety attacks or have an anxiety disorder might be willing to pay to learn how to breathe deeply.
- It’s possible some parents whose child has asthma might be willing to pay for their child to learn how to breathe deeper if they understood the connection between breath and asthma. I could do some research about this and post it on my website.
- Some people on a spiritual journey might want to expand their spiritual practice or deepen their journey and be willing to pay to learn about and experience breath expansion, body awareness, and psychospiritual healing.
- With education, some conscious business owners might be willing to pay for breath and body awareness coaching if they knew about the relationship between deep breathing, living on purpose, and abundance. As my work evolves and I am a living, breathing demonstration of this connection, this aspect of Breath of Life Coaching will have more credence.
- It’s possible that people who feel stressed and are concerned about their health might be willing to learn how to breathe deeper – if they’ve been educated about the connection between their breath and stress reduction.
- Some people who are interested in alternative healing modalities might be interested in breathwork as a physical and emotional healing modality. Some of these people might love using breath and movement to access deep feelings and process through negative beliefs and patterns. Probably, these people will need to be educated about this potential.
Marketing Methods Today I'm just brainstorming ideas about my marketing methods or ways I'll communicate my message to my target market. As I get further along on this process, I'll fine tune these marketing methods and create a plan to try them out. Once I've tried these methods, I'll see what happens - what works and what doesn't. I'll fine tune the details and soon I should have an excellent marketing plan. - Education
I’m thinking that as I tell people about Breath of Life coaching – education is going to be a primary tool for marketing… as is experiencing the calming and centering effects of breathing deeper. Education could be in the form of presentations or articles. Sample experientials - or ways to experience breathwork - could be provided on my website and during presentations or workshops. - Building Relationships and Word of Mouth Marketing
I can building relationships with people at live, in person networking meetings, through email newsletters, via facebook. As these relationships grow and I strategically share with these folks my marketing message, they'll either need my services or know someone who will. This will be fun! - Where to Market?
To start, I can focus my marketing efforts in Howard County - given the message I got yesterday. This decision alone brings so much clarity that I feel shocked. It narrows down where I'll network and offer presentations.
Tomorrow I want to work out more of the details of this plan and possibly set some goals. In the meantime, here’s a draft marketing message: I teach people how to breathe deeply and be present in their body so that they can use breath and body awareness for relaxation and stress reduction, healing, or spiritual awakening.
