Commitment Exercise
Day Five of How to Attract Clients and Grow a Thriving Private Practice in 40 Days: One woman’s personal journey of applying Manifestation and Marketing principles to re-building her private practice
By Kathryn Yarborough I’m realizing that today I want to do the “commitment exercise.” Now that I’ve got some affirmations that feel good... ...I feel all stirred up and excited about attracting new clients and having a full practice again… …and I feel some blocks niggling up from my unconscious. I'm pretty sure that the commitment exercise will help me work through them. I’m also feeling ready to start attracting clients and I’m thinking that doing this exercise will help me get even more ready. I’m not going to explain the details of the commitment exercise you can buy my e-book to Attract Clients and Grow a Thriving Private Practice in 40 Days that’s coming soon, take my Attract Clients workshop, or do some Manifestation Coaching with me to get the full scoop on it… So here I’m just going to do it and you can see how it works. Okay so I have to pick a good goal – one that feels achievable in 3 - 6 months. I think I'll work with this one: My goal is to consistently see 25 clients a week by October 1 - that’s about 3 months from now. I’m noticing that I’m having the thought that in the past this goal would have seemed impossible. Today, because I feel confident in my skills as a practitioner, supported by the Divine in this goal, and I have fairly developed skills as a marketer and manifester – this goal actually seems achievable to me. Yahoo! However, if you're new to marketing and manifestation don't think of this 40 day plan as 40 actual days. This process will take as long - or as short - as it takes for you. If you don't feel confident in your skills as a practitioner (or therapist), you'll need some practice with your craft in order to really feel magnetic to clients. So consider for now having a focus on building your confidence rather than on growing a full practice. If you already feel confident in your skills as a practitioner or therapist, but you're new to marketing and manifestation, take the time you need to develop your skills with these potent tools. Back to the commitment exercise... On a scale of 0 – 100 how certain am I that I’m willing to achieve this goal? Wow that doesn’t seem very certain given how excited I am about this. So let's see what's up with that... What’s between me and being 100% certain that I am willing to see 25 clients every week by October 1, 2010 is… - This is a big change. (Wow I really want this to happen – I may be cool with this.)
- I may not enjoy the marketing of this.
- People may not want to come and I may feel rejected – though I doubt it.
- I might miss planning things – but this seems to be shifting. I think I’m just more present in everything I do.
In order to achieve this goal, I have to let go of… - Working on stuff I have fun doing
- Having open free time
- Lots of unscheduled time (and I’m really excited to get to show up for clients and do this work – I want scheduled time – WOW what a shift!)
- I can still do the CEU workshops – so I don’t have to let go of them – the weeks I'm teaching I just won't see as many private clients.
I want to achieve this goal because… - I feel called to do it – Guidance is suggesting it.
- I REALLY want to experience many people doing full body breathing.
- It feels like the right next thing to do.
- I like feeling on purpose and doing work that makes a difference in other people’s lives.
- I feel called to teach people the Breath of Life and assist them in integrating these practices into their daily lives.
I believe I can achieve this goal because… - There is a force, like a river, propelling me forward with this that will help me do this.
- I’m trusting the process.
- I’m in habit to do the next thing regardless of outward appearances (instead of giving up if it looks like the goal isn’t happening).
- It feels right.
- I have the skills and knowledge and confidence to do this.
Now I feel 85-90% certain that I’m willing to achieve this goal. So I'm going to repeat a couple of the steps of the commitment exercise... What’s between me and being 100% certain that I’m willing to achieve this goal is… - I don’t know how people will respond to this offering yet.
- Though I have a clear vision – seeing people doing this full body breathing – and I think it might be easy to teach it to people… I don’t know if it will be.
- Stepping up to the plate – really stepping up to doing this regardless of any fears that arise.
- Staying with this past the honeymoon of excitement and newness til I’m really following through with this.
I am really willing to achieve this goal because I really want to see all people breathing fully and deeply – doing full body breaths all day long and being transformed by them – by the Lifeforce that will flow in with the breaths. I commit to achieving this goal as a right next step in the process of teaching all people how to do full body breaths. I feel excited… and what’s next? Working out the marketing plan? Visualizing it? Magnetizing clients? Brainstorming how I’ll talk about it?
