Business Plan Goals – Brainstorming and Looking at the Big Picture

Day Twenty-Four of How to Attract Clients and Grow a Thriving Private Practice in 40 Days: One woman’s personal journey of applying Manifestation and Marketing principles to re-building her private practice

By Kathryn Yarborough

Today I want to step back and see if I can identify my business plan goals by looking at the big picture.

So what is the big picture for the coming year??

This coming year I want to:

  • Help stressed and anxious people (who want to learn, grow and feel empowered in their own healing) breathe deeper and fuller
  • Support healing arts practitioners and conscious business owners fully bring forth their services and live on purpose by teaching and coaching them in using manifestation and marketing skills and concepts and in using breath awareness as a guide; and help them heal and clear blocks so that they can be more fully present in the work they do
  • Teach and coach social workers, counselors, acupuncturists and other helping professionals in how to be present in their bodies, breathing fully and deeply while with their clients, and how to use embodied consciousness skills and concepts to help their clients experience symptom relief and full healing

Wow writing down the one year business vision in this way feels so client-centered and centering to me.

In the past my business plan goals have been more black and white like:

I have 25 clients a week within 3 months(this would be my recent past!). And…

My income increases to over $10,000 a month.

Heart Centered Business Plan Goals

What I want to do with this business plan is integrate these two types of goals: My heart/client centered goals and my practical/results centered goals.

This makes sense to me because it keeps my work focused on the two things that matter in having a heart based business – helping people and having a thriving business.

So what’s next?

Given that I will be achieving my goals this coming year… what else do I need to identify I will be doing?

  • Connecting with these people – probably unique ways for each of these groups – with some cross over between the three groups. These ways could be…
    • Networking
    • Presentations
    • Articles
    • Website articles
    • Fliers

  • Staying in contact with these people with my two e-newsletters. I need to set up nurture marketing program – Find out more at ProRescource
  • Developing products that will support them
  • Taking immaculate care of the administrative details of my work: keeping good files, tending to registrations, proper CEU documentation, bookkeeping
  • Developing more workshops and classes to support my clients
  • Scheduling the workshops I will be teaching
  • Creating the marketing materials for these workshops
  • Making sure my website is set up with easy to get to good information about these services

I’d like to have a plan for all of these things set in place soon – so I can feel comfortable being with clients Tuesday – Friday and every other Saturday or Sunday.

This feels really good to me!

Well...

I don't think I have clear business plan goals - that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely, but I do feel like I'm a little clearer about the direction I'm going.
